A Visit to one of our Sponsors, Fred Henderson Ltd.

A visit was recently made to one of the Club’s sponsors, Fred Henderson Ltd, at Langley Bridge Garage, Langley Moor, Durham, DH7 8JZ, a firm well known in the MG/ROVER era for repairs and maintenance. Your Chairman and Secretary were welcomed by, and shown around the garage and showroom by the Managing Director David Henderson.

The Company started trading in 1973 under the arches near Durham Railway station, then in 1980 moved to bigger premises in Ainsley Street, starting a well known and respected breakdown and recovery service in co-operation with Green Flag, the AA and RAC.

Since 2011 the business has been located at its present premises on the A690, leaving Durham City Centre, down Neville’s Cross Bank and it is on the right hand side just before the railway bridge.

They are a dealer for new MG cars, and stock both new and used models. In the car park were several new MG models for demonstration purposes or courtesy cars. There is comfortable reception area. They have a Bosch Car Service franchise with all the latest diagnostic stuff, a clean and well equipped workshop for service and repairs to MG’s and other makes. There is also a bodyshop that is able to tackle extensive repairs, as well as smaller jobs like paintwork, or paintless dent removal.

The showroom had an impressive line up of new MG models; MG3, GS and ZS. Accompanying them were two absolutely immaculate MG/Rovers; a TF, 05 reg. but never used, only 10 miles on the clock!!!, Also a ZT, 51 reg. showing only 82 miles!
