The Fish and Chip Run to Whitby

We were fortunate with excellent weather for our Fish and Chip Run to Whitby, this is our first run of the year and we had 50 members and friends take part. Five cars left the services at Durham

Meeting up at Strikes Garden Centre

to meet up with many more at Strikes Garden Centre in Stokesley to follow Reg Barretts super new route down the coast to Whitby. We went via Great Ayton to Loftus and then on to Lingdale and over Boulby cliff top with it’s breath taking views of the N.E. coast and Staithes finally arriving at Whitby at 12.30 in time for lunch. After parking up we congregated at the ‘Whalebones’ for a group photo

Club Members from South Yorkshire MGOC joined us for Lunch

before making our way down to Hadleys fish restaurant where we met up with many friends from South Yorkshire MG Club for a sumptuous fish and chip dinner with a generous helping of friendly banter. After dinner we had a wander round the town in the glorious sunshine before setting off on a short drive to the Victoria Garden Centre on the outskirts of Whitby for a cup of coffee before setting off on the drive home. We all agreed it was a fabulous day and nice meeting up with lots of likeminded friends.

Thanks again to Reg and Babs for organising another great day and a fabulous and very interesting route via Staithes to Whitby.

A Walk round the town after dinner
